Amino PEG, or PEG amine, constitutes a diverse class of compounds with notable synthetic significance. Distinguished by an amine endgroup, these compounds manifest versatile reactivity, participating in reactions with carboxylic acid-containing compounds to generate a range of amides. Additionally, they engage with activated esters, encompassing N-hydroxysuccinimide esters, pentafluorophenyl (PFP) esters, and para-nitrophenyl esters, leading to the formation of amides incorporating a PEG unit.
