Biotinylation reagents are widely used chemical tools for labeling biomolecules with biotin, a small vitamin that binds with extraordinarily high affinity to streptavidin and avidin. These reagents typically consist of a biotin moiety linked to a reactive functional group—such as NHS esters for amines, maleimides for thiols, or click-compatible handles—allowing selective conjugation to proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, or other biomolecules.
